About the Presenter:
Hamish McLeod, PhDHamish McLeod qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in New Zealand in 1992 and then went on to complete his PhD at Imperial College while practicing in the NHS. Hamish's career has been built on a combination of clinical practice, research, and leadership of post-graduate professional training. He is currently the Programme Director for the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Professor of Clinical Psychology, and Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Hamish's research programme is focused on understanding mechanisms of change in psychological therapies and the development, evaluation, and scaling up of complex psychological interventions. He has a particular interest in the psychological understanding and effective treatment of problems related to low motivation, apathy, anhedonia, and extreme social withdrawal.
